The Legal Brief

John Buonora, retired Chief Assistant District Attorney of Suffolk County and past president of the Suffolk County Bar Association, reviewed "Horrific Homicides" in the Winter 2022 edition of the Association's magazine. Calling Judge Stark’s book a “labor of love reflecting his well-deserved reputation for thoroughness and clarity,” he notes that it tells “the real story” of the DeFeo murders. The story of Vikki Ardito, Buonora writes, is a “spellbinder involving a scorned woman, betrayal, wealth, a violent murder and a long and winding judicial proceedings with an ensemble of characters straight out of central casting.”
